High angle shot and VS of main street of Kalgoorlie. Tilt along large concrete pipe along ground. Pan from township to open cut mining and a mining drill or rig. Bronze statue of Patrick Hannan in main street. Plaque reads: ÒCentenary of Western Australia. 1929. This Memorial Foundation was erected by Public Subscription in honour of the late Patrick Hannan who first discovered gold at Kalgoorlie 15th June 1893. Pan across open cut mine mining area of Kalgoorlie. Men arriving for work and walking alongside tram. Large group of men in hard hats gathered outside mine, some smoking and talking. VS of men descending into mine. CU on hands holding large piece of gold bearing ore. Molten gold pouring into bucket. CU on gold ingots.
