Town of Yallourn in the Latrobe Valley. Open cut brown coal quarry. Dredger strips top layer from quarry, exposing the brown coal. Man holds large piece of young coal which resembles a charred block of wood. Coal excavation by two dredges. Coal dropped into carriages of electric train and taken to power station. Exterior of power station. Man opens door of furnace. Generators in turbine room. High voltage power towers. Brown coal briquette production in factory. Yallourn power station.
