Group of miners back from work, David talks to his roommate, Irish man called Ben. They talk about life of single man and lack of women. VS open mine, Ben and David in bus to work. Explosion in open cut mine. Line of heavy trucks and earth moving machinery. Miners at work, very dusty. Young miner, David learning about mine. Other Ben drives large truck. VS around mine including line of men on rim during explosion. Digger. Supervisor, Foxy, with pile of rocks, David helps him take them home in jeep. Foxy's wife Vicky comes out, David watches she and Foxy talking, Foxy appears angry, David leaves.

At open cut mine, miners with machinery. Supt Foxy changervisor, Foxy looking at plans. Talks to older miner, Arthur and they shake hands. Young miner David in mining town, watches women play tennis and talks to Foxy's wife Vicky. Gives her lift home, chat abouing once he was married. Foxy waiting, sees them talking and is jealous. Sound of him slapping Vicky when she comes inside. Foxy and Arthur drinking, Foxy rude.

Outdoor, caravan advertising wrestling match. Swimming pool, miners David and Ben chatting. Wresters come into open air ring. people watching and shouting. David talks to supervisor Foxy's wife, Vicky, about her being beaten by husband. Ben comes out for wrestling match, is knocked out. Foxy sees David and Vicky talking, is jealous, volunteers to fight and knocks out other wrestler.

Miners out of back of truck at mine. VS around open cut mine. Man talking into loud speaker. Miners David and Foxy setting detonation fuse, they start to fight in dirt. CU fuse. Other miners see and run to help. David knocks Foxy out and carries him to jeep, they drive away just as explosion happens. David and Foxy report to man in office, say it was accident.
