Memorial to Stretcher Bearers of the Kokoda Trail

A memorial is unveiled at the foot of the Owen Stanley Ranges, Papua New Guinea, to honour the Papuan carriers during the Kokoda Trail campaign of World War Two.

Dignitaries & local people, including some of the carriers, listen. Keeland unveiling memorial watched by architect, Raymond Ewers, one of the carriers and HD Kingle who fought in campaign. Flashback to WWII Kokoda Trail scenes with wounded being carried out of jungle. Native guard plays Last Post, wreath laying. WWII Quicktime clip available.
