Women telephone operators, switch board. Telegram operators, telegrams being printed by teleprinter. VS reporting of broken teletype machine and finding fault. Linesmen about to repair broken insulators on telegraph pole. CU unfinished message on teleprinter. Young boy dead in bed. Defaced signs outside post office and Savings Bank, ripped poster, man holding ripped telephone book. Post box with smoke pouring out as PMG van pulls alongside. VS postmen try to put out fire, burnt letters. Family waiting for postman who has no letters for them. Wrecked car towed away, men working at accident scene show vandalised Danger sign.
