HNL 1384 :Laying Foundation Stone of Canberra
Canberra's foundation stone laid 12 March 1913 by Governor General Lord Denman, Prime Minister Andrew Fisher & Minister of State for Home Affairs King O'Malley. Light horse parade. Various Canberra buildings & views of camp & landscape. Inspection of troops in barracks. Official party is seen passing through country town, & arriving & departing site. Crowds & troops observe ceremony. Good shot of main street of little country town with shops and Red Cross horse drawn wagon and flag. Same footage also on HNL 1013.
