HNL 1001: Cavalcade of Australia (Can 2) Lord Kitchener, Poets, River dam

Lord Kitchener visits Australia after the Boer War to advise on the Australian army. Lord Kitchener and other officials disembarking from ship. Lord Kitchener arrives & inspects Australian troops. Men walk across field to flag and cadets lined up. (this was an embarrassing incident as there were supposed to be hundreds of young school cadets on the parade ground and only a small number turned up) , Cavalry ride along country road past Kitchener on horseback, followed by band & men on foot (most do not salute Kitchener), horse drawn carriages for the Red Cross, Australian Light Horse, crowds on side of road. Army camp, field of tents. Religious service to troops standing in field, some women. Officials walk up hill to camera (1909)
