He wonders aloud about how he'll find money. A beggar passes and sings a short song to get a penny from a rich man. The man's sister Lucy arrives and they exclaim their woes. New scene in stately home depicts wealthy father with large moustache plotting to control his future son-in-law by lending him money. Includes scheming monologue to camera.
