Hidden in the middle of noisy, vibrant Calcutta is a quiet oasis, the Tollygunge Home, a refuge for 35 elderly Anglo-Indians who still cling to the belief that Britain is their true home.

Early morning sunrise over grounds of the home. Resident, Mr Patrick Glaskin marks off his calendar - 20 December. Dahl (lentil soup) is served to residents in dining room. Residents read newspapers on verandah. Gates to home open and two bullocks enter. Residents Mr Louis Robertson and Miss Mary Patrick sit in garden. He writes a letter.
